ST: I sense a theme

Third Star Trek episode and once again our heroes have to battle an enemy from within with unimaginable powers who has been corrupted by them. Which is a lot like the last episode. And it was kinda like the one before, though they're taking it to further extremes each time. Looks like the lesson this time is that love will conquer. Sort of. Fun times after the jump.

Spock wears an ALICE belt that's been painted grey in one scene. There are several fun moments where they use some pretty primitive wire-work.

Mostly the episode is Kirk making errors in judgement because he doesn't want to hurt his friend who repeatedly talkes about squishing him like an insect.

No Dr McCoy in this episode; apparently it was the second one filmed and they didn't have Bones yet? I dunno, there was some old guy who was the doctor. Sulu wasn't the man on the bridge and no one was wearing any sort of red uniform yet either. Scotty was shockingly young and thin.
