ST: Yellow is the new red

Next episode is The Naked Time. A red-shirt (wearing blue) comes back from a planet with Spock where everyone has died mysteriously. No one thinks about a quarantine when they return and the mysterious death of the nameless crewman doesn't seem to spark any suspicion about what happened.  The complete lack of any sensible protocols is laughable. Just like last episode, Kirk refuses to credit the warnings of his crew. More fun times after the jump. Turns out the disease is one that causes all the actors to chew the scenery.

Sulu's coming out later in life adds a new twist to his friendship with another red-shirt. Sulu encourages him to join him fencing, talks about trying to get him interested in botany and invites him down for a mid-day workout in the gym.

Sulu's fencing foil is bent and clearly not made from steel.

Spock engages in sarcasm and refers to Sulu as D'Artagnan and later he tips a chair on the bridge showing that it's not fixed and should have tumbled when the ship "tilted" drastically.

Watching McCoy's nurse try to seduce Spock was pretty funny. Watching him struggle with his emotions was just silly.

I didn't realize that one could lean against the automatically opening doors, but apparently they can tell when one is walking through and when one is merely leaning.

Overall, this one isn't too bad; once the disease is loose the effects and response are pretty reasonable for Star Trek. But the initial behaviour that lets it loose is inane.
